Ok -- I have a ton of stitching kits, used charts, etc. that I must get rid of. I am going to do small packages at a time till everything is gone. All you have to do is leave a comment with your email address and I will pick a name .... With as much as I have, I will probably start pulling names immediately. Not sure how many packages of goodies I will be sending out as of yet. But I know of more than 7 right now. Today's deal is this chart -- Life and Liberty chart by Sue Hillis. Big Projects Update

Well, it's time for an update on my big projects...

last time you saw "Lady of Summer" you couldn't really see too much...

last week's picture

Here is this week's picture... I am working on the shading of the dress ruffles.

It's a lot harder than you think -- believe me!!

And here's the Symmetry project (canvaswork) that I am currently stitching.

last week's picture

This is my latest work done on it--
I have some triangluar backstitching to do. But becuz I am uncertain of the stitch direction, it's been put on hold. I know that it's probably something very easy, but I don't want to screw it up. So I will wait till I can get with Sue (my mentor) and stitch it correctly.

I also had some time (imagine that) and stitched 2 ornies for the Ornie SAL that I am a part of. I TRIED to do punchneedle today and OMG!! I got fed up really fast with it. I got a Dimensions kit of a Christmas tree that could be turned into a pin or an ornie, real simple. Well my punchneedle tool kept making HUGE holes in the fabric and the thread wasn't looping right. I got fed up with it and just stitching it in satin stitches instead. It's really cute and I even finished it into an ornie this evening. I made cording with the leftover threads - which there was plenty. So it was a productive day all around.
Hope that you are having a great week -- it's almost over!!

Lookie What I got!!

I love getting mail! Don't you?? Not the usual bill stuff, but fun mail. I was getting worried about my bookmark swap with BBI coming all the way from Canada, it was taking it's sweet time getting here. Today was a blah day with rain off and on, and the mailman brought me my package!!! I was so thrilled. Thank you Gisele for my bookmark (which I totally love!!) and the cool tuck pillows. I have been wanting to try making these for some stitched things I have but you know I've never got around to it. Now I have to stitch something really cool to put into these. Well that's all I wanted to share for today -- Thursday is coming and that means more pictures from my big projects that I am working on. Have a GREAT week!!

oh... I weighed in and did the measurement thing. 10 lbs total and 3 inches off!! WOOHOO me!

Progress on my BIG project and startings of another

So here's the picture from last week...

And here's some of the work that I have been able to fit in here and there this week. Not too bad... took forever to make sure that I counted correctly to come down the front part of the dress. Lord knows if you mess up here -- it's all off. Took me 2 hrs to count and recount, frog and stitch, but it's perfect now. And when I am not working on my "lady"... I am working on ....(scroll down)....

And this is another BIG project that I have started.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!
But when given the opportunity to learn a new skill I have to jump at the chance. This project is canvas work. And I adore the colors that I am using. The pattern was purchased on http://www.needledelights.com/ . And it's called Symmetry. My best friend's mom, Sue is teaching me this new technique of needlework. She is bad bad badddd enabler, but I love her dearly for taking the time to teach me new stuff. She also gave me another chart to do, but I am saving that one for later.

This is what mine will hopefully look like when completed. Fingers crossed. My red doesn't seem as bright as the picture shown. Well that's all for now. I hope to be able to post again really soon!!
